NABS 2008. Save the date and make it the best year yet!
NABS is celebrating 25 years of assisting our colleagues in need! We invite you to join us at our annual events to celebrate the continued success of this unique and invaluable industry resource…
Every season we work towards raising NABS awareness and growing our ability to support the industry. The networking and fundraising events that we plan encourage industry players and employees to turn their attention to the pressing issues and continued success of our community.
In this way we strengthen and grow our network, uncover new opportunities and are able to offer support to our colleagues in various stages of their career.
We look forward to having you at our events as our guests, friends and generous supporters!
Thank you for your continuous help in defining our roll and enabling us to support, develop and connect you.

NABS ‘CareerSite’ – new industry online job board
Free postings for Employers coming to and end
The NABS CareerSite was launched in October 2006 (www.nabs.org – click on the ‘CareerSite’ button at top of page) to provide another channel for employers across all advertising, media and related sectors to secure new talent. The first association partner to support the CareerSite were ICA members, who began posting job opportunities last fall. Other industry employers were also able to post jobs free of charge following the launch and this period will end on August 1, 2007.
After this date, there will be a nominal fee for employers to post jobs with preferred rates offered to industry association members and NABS supporters.
As always, NABS will offer job-seekers the opportunity to post resumes for free at any time on the CareerSite. One of the unique benefits for both job-seekers and employers is that NABS services (and the website) are available to all sectors of the advertising, media and communications sectors across Canada – thereby ensuring a diverse range of job-seekers – by sector, geographic region and by level of experience from junior up to senior executives.
Later in 2007, NABS is planning to launch a companion French-language CareerSite, as an extension of it’s Quebec-based chapter – BEC - Bénévolat d'Entraide aux Communicateurs – www.bec-nabs.org.
Some of the benefits for employers to post jobs on the CareerSite:
- Post jobs and search resumes 24/7
- Direct access to qualified candidates across all industry sectors
- Secure job management tools that allows you to post and edit jobs
- Automatic pre-screening of candidates into “A-lists” and “B-lists”
- A unique resume database
- Search by over 10 different criteria
- 60-day job postings that can be revised or updated at any time
Donate to NABS through United Way
Did you know you could give to NABS through the United Way pledge form? You can.
And since NABS helps people in our industry with personal and career issues related to illness, unemployment or financial difficulties, it’s worth considering.
Here’s how you can donate: On the back of the first white page, you’ll find a section called, ‘Other Giving Options’. Simply fill in ‘NABS’ under heading ‘To another registered charitable organization’ and include the NABS charitable number – #11905 1357 RR.
If you don’t have a United Way donation form, please contact NABS at 416-962-0446 or nabs@nabs.org.
Please note that tax receipts are provided through United Way, not NABS
